cean Rubber Factory L.L.C. with ISO 9002 certified quality assurance system carry out rubberlining of tanks, pipes and other plant structures in accordance with BS 6374:Part 5:1985 using calendered rubber sheets of desired specifications. The work is carried out either at the customer's plant site or at the company's works as required.

he selection of materials for the rubber lining depends on the media handled by the particular structure. The technical department of Ocean Rubber Factory L.L.C. could be of assistance to decide the right selection of the rubber compound.
Some of the commonly used lining materials include:
| CORROLINE | : | Resistant to ozone, ultra violet rays and sea water; commonly used in the marine environment because of its ability to discourage the growth of marine organisms. | | RESOLINE | : | Resistant to mineral oils, fuel oils and exhibit good impermeability. | | CLIMALINE | : | Resistant to heat and oxidising agents, highly impermeable to gases resulting better use in application involving liquid gas such as nitrogen, freyon etc. | | CHEMILINE | : | Resistant to inorganic chemicals, alcohol and esters; good physical properties and abrasion resistance. | | CHLOROLINE | : | They are hard rubber with higher chemical resistance particularly to chlorine gas and most aliphatic carboxylic acids. Good electrical resistivity and used in hypochlorination application. | | SUPER-THERMOLINE | : | Best known high temperature resistant sheets for lining application, temperature resistance to 250°C (Maximum), resistant to naphtha. | | | | |

 | Inspection of structures The structures are inspected to ensure compatibility with the rubber lining standard BS 6374: Part 5: 1985 since the type of welding and grinding are very important aspects which could affect the quality of the rubberlining. The inspected structures are then stored away from impact and other hazards. | | Surface preparation Surface preparation starts with processes like high pressure fresh water cleaning and salt contamination checks as necessary. The surface to be lined is blast cleaned to achieve the required cleanliness of SA 2.5 to SA 3 to achieve surface profile of 50 to 100 microns. Documentation of the surface preparation results are carried out at every stage. | | Application of adhesive Application of special heat activated primer, cover coat and tack coat is done carefully as per ORF internal standard QAP-PRO-006. | | Compounding Rubber material of desired chemical combination to provide the specified physical properties is compounded, tested as per BS 903, test results documented and mixed compound stored as per BS 3574:1989. | | Calendering Rubber sheets are calendered and the calendered sheets are applied on the substrate and stitched using specially designed tools. Visual test and high voltage spark test are carried out to detect any porosity or other defects prior to vulcanization. | | Vulcanization Vulcanization is effected by curing with steam in an autoclave under controlled temperature and pressure or at atmospheric conditions as per ORF internal standard QAP-PRO-006. | | Testing and certification The rubberlining is subjected to inspection prior to despatch as per ORF internal standard QAP-QC-007. | | Despatch The rubberlined structures are stored away from direct sunlight at pre-designated area and are loaded carefully into trucks. | | | |

cean Rubber Factory L.L.C. has a fully equipped laboratory to test critical physical properties of the rubber lining material including Rheometer characteristics, abrasion resistance, acid resistance, volume swell testing, etc.

cean Rubber Factory L.L.C. is able to install soft/hard, natural/synthetic rubber lining to the complete satisfaction of the clients and third party inspectors. Linings are chemically bonded to the parent structure to provide protection from corrosive and abrasive attack as well as protecting the media handled from contamination from the parent structure. The vulcanization is effected by cold or hot process depending on the requirement.
n order to simplify the contract process Ocean Rubber Factory L.L.C. in conjunction with the local fabricators is in a position to offer as an option a complete package including design, fabrication, rubber lining and external painting of the tanks/pipe structures as per the clients requirement. Specification for lining of equipment with polymeric material for the process industry is as per BS 6374 part 5 :1985 and other relevant international standards. |
